Summer and Winter Camps in Birmingham, AL
Bring your curiosity and sense of wonder for hands-on, minds-on, science and fun! McWane camps offer further inquiry into science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) topics for children 4 to 13 years old. Campers learn about the deep oceans, journey into outer space, build robots, spend time with our animal ambassadors, and much more. Winter Break Camps 2026

McWane members get early access to Winter Camp registration beginning September 21, 2026.
Registration for non-members opens October 5, 2026.
Turn winter break into a season of discovery at McWane Science Center’s Winter Camps! With hands-on experiments, creative problem-solving and interactive exploration, our camps keep kids learning, laughing and engaged while school is out. Led by McWane’s expert educators, each camp features age-appropriate activities that inspire curiosity and build confidence through real-world science experiences.

Lunch is not provided. Campers should bring a nut-free lunch from home, or lunch may be purchased from the Bean Sprouts Café during registration.
