Spring, Summer, and Winter Camps in Birmingham, AL
Bring your curiosity and sense of wonder for hands-on, minds-on, science and fun! McWane camps offer further inquiry into science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) topics for children 4 to 13 years old. Campers learn about the deep oceans, journey into outer space, build robots, spend time with our animal ambassadors, and much more. Designed to spark curiosity and creativity, these engaging camps invite kids to explore, experiment, and discover through interactive activities led by our experienced educators. Each day is packed with exciting challenges, real science, and unforgettable learning—perfect for young scientists looking to turn their break into an adventure.

Lunch is not provided. Campers should bring a nut-free lunch from home, or lunch may be purchased from the Bean Sprouts Café during registration.

Half-day camps are $55 per day, $45 per day for McWane Science Center Members.

Turn summer into a season of discovery at McWane Science Center’s Summer Camps! With weeklong adventures filled with hands-on experiments, creative problem-solving, and interactive exploration, our Summer Camps keep kids learning, laughing, and engaged all summer long. Led by McWane’s expert educators, each camp offers age-appropriate activities that inspire curiosity and build confidence through real-world science experiences.
